The most anticipated movie in the history of Tamil movie industry is in its final stretch. Amidst heavy marketing and campaigning, this movie is set to hit the theaters on October 1st. It was said that when Amir Khan promoted his movie Ghajini, the marketing strategy he used was admired by everyone and the strategy was included as a discussion item for IIM students. Well the marketing strategy for Endhiran is set to go past all the strategies applied so far and probably will be a discussion item for management students all over the world.
Sun Pictures MD Mr. Kalanithi Maran has meticulously planned and orchestrated this entire media campaign. With a powerful media (Sun TV) at his disposal, he has put in so much effort to create this massive hype for this movie and I bet when this hits the theaters it is just going to beyond crazy. Mr.Kalanithi Maran's plan started off on a high note with a massive audio launch function in Malaysia, then followed by a special, one of a kind, trailer release function in Chennai and all over Tamil Nadu. The climax of this campaign is opening the advance booking for this movie - Yes, advance booking opens today (9/25) from 9am all over Tamil Nadu. This, probably will be the first time in Tamil movie industry where the box office collection will be known even before the movie is released.
In the trailer launch function, actor/comedian Vivek mentioned about hard worker vs. smart worker and he said Shankar and Rajini are hard workers and along with Kalanithi Maran a smart worker has joined hands and this movie is going to be a mega hit. That is a very very true statement. What ever is the outcome of the movie, the media campaign will definitely save this movie. Any Rajini movie is bound to run for 100+ days, combined with Director Shankar who has given only super duper hit movies, has joined hands with a very smart and talented producer.... this movie is bound to break several records and will be a one of a kind movie and a movie that every Tamil movie producer, director, actor and fans will cherish for a long time to come.
