Director Vijay and GV Prakash combination has provided some really good numbers in their earlier projects like Madarasapattinam etc. Deiva Thirmagan is no exception to that fact. A total of 7 tracks with couple of them sung by Vikram himself. After listening to all the songs and the lyrics, I sincerely hope it is not a remake of the Hollywood blockbuster 'I am Sam' movie. The stills of Vikram has resemblances to Sean Penn character in that movie and it also revolves around a mentally challenged person trying to get custody of his only child. Ok, lets go the songs.
Track 1 - Kadhai Solla Poren, Sung by Vikram and Shringa. Lyrics Na.Muthukumar
A peppy track that is bound to impress children. Vikram with his unusual tone and funny lyrics, GV Prakash has used very nice melody tunes to grab kids attention. It is bound to create lot of anticipation on how this song has been enacted in the movie.
Track 2 - Vizhigalil Oru Vaanavil, Sung by Saindhavi. Lyrics Na Muthukumar.
GV Prakash at his peak, wonderful lyrics, the result - an amazingly soothing and charming melody. This track is bound to top music charts across all TV and radio stations. Even though there were resemblances to several earlier tracks, this is an absolute melody.
Track 3 - Jagada Thom, Sung by SPB, Maya and Rajesh. Lyrics Na Muthukumar
Looks like this is song somewhere close to climax or at the end of the movie. Very powerful lyrics, kudos to Na Muthukumar, GV has combined it with an excellent blend of instruments to give a real solid song. It may not hit the top in the charts but it will have its own fan base.
Track 4 - Pa Pa Papa, Sung by Vikram. Lyrics Na Muthukumar
A totally different song and GV Prakash has really given a different touch and it gives a smile in our face when we listen to this song. The lyrics are simple, very good rendition by Vikram makes this song very unique.
Track 5 - Aarariro, Sung by Haricharan. Lyrics Na Muthukumar.
Another splendid combination of music and lyrics. Very powerful and binds the listener to the song. Haricharan's vocals are phenomenal and GV has really utilized him very well.
Other 2 tracks are the regular one, that includes a very good theme music. The really good thing about this movie album is that it doesnt have any non-Tamil speaking singer singing and killing the song, like Udit Narayanan butchering Tamil. The other aspect is it doesnt have any of those funky, useless Tamil rap and the whole album solely relies on good lyrics and good music and for a change we got a total melody album. Thanks to Director Vijay, GV Prakash and Na Muthukumar.
